Istanbul Modern Nov. 2015

Istanbul Modern is the city’s contemporary art museum. It is a private museum, located in a former warehouse, at the border of the Bosphorus. It has two levels: a temporary exhibition in the first floor and a permanent one in the underground floor. It is a very interesting museum because it takes many cues from the big western contemporary art museums and also features internationally renowned artists. However, when you visit it and through the artwork selection you can feel the local flavour. It is very representative of the image that Turkey conveys: a country anchored in tradition, but willing to open to European culture.

Istanbul Nov 2015

In this second condensed part of my trip to Istanbul I posted some pictures of all of the things I discovered in this city besides the mosques: the bazars and markets, the streets filled with shops, the Bosphorus, the Dolmabahçe palace, the Istiklal Caddesi street, Taksim square and an outrageous revelation from my boyfriend.
