At the same time that vacations were over, my stay at the student residence, where I’ve been living for the last two and half years, also ended. Leaving the Cité was a million times less painful than leaving my first student apartment. The circumstances were different, true, but above all I was leaving a true “love nest” as Adriana used to call it. Between my flat mates, the friends who came to visit us, the parties and the meals we had, I felt good there, in spite of the psycho Ph.D. student that also lived with us (I now understand you Sagnik!!!! Wherever you are, I now understand you!!!!) My apartment in Geneva turned out to be like Switzerland in general: super luxurious and comfortable, but cold and incapable of encouraging bonds.

Quiet

“Quiet” is Susan Cain’s book on introverted people and how they relate to the world. I found it in one of those countless times I’ve had in my life when I wondered why I had such a hard time making friends and relating to people. The greatest difference this time is that I had access to the library in my university and I found a book about it.
